Dr Barry Marks, Chiropractor Orange, CA explains what to expect on your first visit in his Orange Chiropractic office.
For New Patients Here’s What to Expect on Your First Visits with Dr Marks
Welcome!
We want to warmly welcome you to our office and have created this so you will know what you will experience in our office.
Appointments Highly Recommended
Although we do accept walk-in patients, it’s best to make an appointment to avoid excessive wait times. You may make a New Patient Appointment here online 24/7.
Paperwork
All doctors offices have basic paperwork that is necessary to see a patient. You may download and complete New Patient Paperwork at home to save time on your first visit. You are welcome to complete it in the office as well. If you have had a car accident, the paperwork is extensive to fully document your injuries. The paperwork is crucial for your case.
Consultation and Exam
Dr. Marks will take a careful history of your condition and overall health. You will have plenty of time to explain your condition and discuss any health challenges you may have with Dr. Marks. Once the history is taken, you will then have a physical examination based. You will not be asked to disrobe. Normal street wear is fine in most cases. Exercise clothing is best to allow freedom of movement and ease of examination by the doctor. A thorough exam will be done to uncover the root cause of your problem.
Discussion
Based on Dr Marks’ over 30 years of experience, he will decide whether or not imaging like x-ray or MRI is needed. You may also receive a referral to other specialist if he believes you would be better served elsewhere. He will explain in detail the reasons behind any referrals and discuss with them with you.
First Treatment
In most cases, you will receive a treatment on your first visit. Dr Marks is primarily concerned about relieving your pain quickly and safely. Your first treatment may involve a chiropractic adjustment and/or physical therapy modalities such as heat, electrical stimulation, laser and/or exercises and stretches. On rare occasions, Dr Marks may not provide treatment on the first visit and that is out of concern for your safety. If he feels you cannot be safely treated, he will defer it until further testing or imaging has been complete. Of course he will discuss this with you.
We Welcome You Again and Look Forward to Helping You!
